Creating Your Profile
Registration is the first step towards becoming an "official" citizen of Broncos Country. There are two parts to the process.
The first part involves providing basic contact information and details (like your date of birth). Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required, and you can choose whether you want certain types of information like your e-mail address, to display on your profile page.
The second part is where you really tell people about who you are -- everything from why you love the Broncos to your favorite movies. You should also provide a picture of yourself, preferably in your best Broncos attire!
To finish the process you must indicate that you agree to our Terms of Use for the site. Once you check that box, click the "Submit" button and your profile page is created!
If for some reason you are unable to complete the registration process, please fill out the Site Feedback form with details on the problems you're having and we'll do our best to fix things for you.
Adding Content
Once you've built your profile page, you can share lots of different content with your fellow Broncomaniacs. The upper right corner of your profile page has an area called "My Tools," with links to add images, video and more. Click the link next to the type of content you want to add; then browse for the file on your computer. For all content other than images, you can select a thumbnail picture to represent it from our available options or create one of your own.
Allowed file formats:
- Images - JPEG, PNG or GIF
- Videos - AVI, WMV, MOV, MP4 or SWF
- Audio - WAV, MP3, MP4, OGG or WMA
Keep in mind that you have a limited amount of space available for content, so the better job you do optimizing your files the more stuff you can share! You have 20mb of space to store content. To see how much you have remaining, simply visit your page and look for the storage indicator near your avatar.
Blogging
You can create an ongoing blog to share with people who visit your profile page. A blog is a sort of online diary, where you can write about pretty much anything you like. Just click the link to create a new entry, type in a title and your actual post and click "Submit." People can then read all your entries right from your profile page.
Adding Friends
As you browse through citizen profiles or content and you see a citizen you like, you can add that person as a friend. All you do is click on the link where it says "Add to My Friends." You'll then see the list of individuals you have added under "My Friends" on your citizen page. You can choose to show your favorite friends or your top eight.
To manage your entire list of friends click on "View All Friends" on your citizen profile. If you want to post comments on someone else's profile page (see below), that citizen must have selected you as a friend. When you are on "My Page," click on "View Friend Requests" in "My Tools." When you click on this link it will take you to a page of pending requests from individuals who want to be YOUR friend.
Adding Comments
In order to add a comment on someone's profile page, you have to be selected as a friend of that citizen. When a citizen accepts someone as a friend, a friend request is also sent back to that person.
If you are a friend of a particular citizen there will be a link right above all the other comments on that citizen's profile page. Citizens have the option to delete any comments on their profile pages.
Rating Citizens & Content - Every citizen and piece of content is ratable on Broncos Country by any registered citizen. A citizen can only vote once on an item. Once you vote on something you can update your vote by clicking on the voting icons again, but the vote still only counts once.
Earning Badges
Badges are awards that are displayed on your Citizen Profile page and highlight your achievements on Broncos Country. There are several ways that you can earn badges on BroncosCountry.com. The list below explains the requirements for each badge:
- Images
- Level 1 - 10 Images uploaded
- Level 2 - 20 Images uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each image
- Level 3 - 50 Images uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each image
- Chef
- Level 1 - 10 recipes uploaded
- Level 2 - 20 recipes uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each recipe
- Level 3 - 50 recipes uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each recipe
- Social
- Level 1 - 30 friends
- Level 2 - 300 friends / Being one of the first 5 people to befriend a new user 10 times
- Level 3 - 1000 friends / Being one of the first 5 people to befriend a new user 25 times
- Audio
- Level 1 - 10 audio files uploaded
- Level 2 - 20 audio files uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each audio file
- Level 3 - 50 audio files uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each audio file
- Critic
- Level 1 - Rated 1000 pieces of content
- Level 2 - Rated 2000 pieces of content
- Level 3 - Rated 5000 pieces of content
- Editorial
- Level 1 - 10 stories uploaded
- Level 2 - 20 stories uploaded / Minimum length of 250 characters per story / Average rating of 3.0 for each story
- Level 3 - 50 stories uploaded / Minimum length of 250 characters per story / Average rating of 3.5 for each story
- Video
- Level 1 - 10 video files uploaded
- Level 2 - 20 video files uploaded / Average rating of 3.0 for each video
- Level 3 - 50 video files uploaded / Average rating of 3.5 for each video
- Special
- Citizens who won the "Citizen of the Year" award.
Objectionable Content
As you browse through the site and come across any content that you find offensive or objectionable you can notify us immediately by clicking on the red flag icon seen next to all content. This will document the citizen account and content into an e-mail that is then sent to our staff. We will check the content and if it is offensive, take it down immediately.
Game / Event Connect
BroncosCountry.com is a social outlet for you and other citizens to connect. So if you are hosting a football party, tailgate party, or even just your Broncos-themed birthday party you can post the information about the event here.
You must be a citizen and logged into the site in order to create an event. Go to either "Game Connect" in the drop down menu for Citizen Connection, or go to add an event under "My Tools" in your profile. Enter in the time, location, date and any other pertinent information for your event.
If you want to find someone else's event, go to the "Game Connect" under Citizen Connection. You can search by City/State, Citizen, and Date or by using a keyword to find the event you want to attend.
Finding Citizens
Located under Citizen Connection, you can now look for citizens by using the following filters:
- Location
- Gender
- Only citizens with photos
- Keywords - so if you like John Elway find others who do too!
- Citizen Rating - find only the best
- Citizen Name
Searching Content
You can search for images, videos, audio, stories, and recipes content under "Best Of." You can limit your search to one specific piece of content, or search for multiple pieces. Other options for searching are by keyword, date uploaded, and ratings or search off the citizen name.
Message Boards
Every user on Broncos Country automatically has an account on the Broncos Country Message Boards. The same nickname/user name, e-mail address and password are used to log into both sites.
If a message boards user also has a Broncos Country profile, that person will have a link to his or her profile page displayed on their posts on the message boards.
